Landscaping for Privacy – May 7, 2025 – Paige Patterson, Watauga County NC Extension Service Agent showed us how to create our own personal retreat. Paige provided inspiration and practical advice by sharing her award-winning publication describing landscaping with plants which can thrive in Blowing Rock.

Art in the Garden – June 4, 2025 – We met Cantey Tanner, Sculptor, and creator of the beloved “Jesse” statue. She explained where she finds inspiration, her artistic journey, and how her work comes into being.

Tablescapes, and more! – July 9, 2025 – Lead by Pat Wheeler, BR Garden Club member. Pat, who creates dozens of arrangements for the Blowing Rock Tour of Homes, demonstrated how she creates one of her stunning arrangements. She also shared how her mother created “Friendship”.

Inside the Mind of a Honeyologist – August 6, 2025 – Meet Chris Conner, owner of Whole Hive Honey Company.

Danielle Stewart, co-founder of the Mustard Seed Garden, showed us how to make impactful floral arrangements that tell a colorful story. From a road-side stand she bought with her husband in 1992, to the thriving business employing dozens today, Danielle shared some of her journey with the club.

We kicked off our 2024 season with Brian Antzcak of Bug Lovers Native Plants, who grows plants native to the High Country. He helped us learn more about the relationship between plants and insects and the critical link native plants play in the food web.
